Page 1 of 4 PaydaysA pay period covers two full work weeks or 80 hours for full-time employees. Each pay period begins on a Wednesday and ends 14 days later on Tuesday. There are typically 26 pay periods in a year. State employees are paid every two weeks, which is every other Friday and 10 days after the end of each pay period. The first pay date for new employees is 10 calendar days after the end of the pay period in which they start. Employees are paid through direct deposit and pay stubs are available on-line.
